Antisemitic singer banned from social media
A folk singer who posted videos on YouTube insulting Jewish people and mocking the Holocaust has been banned from using social media. Alison Chabloz, 54, was convicted last month of two charges of sending an offensive message and a third relating to a song on YouTube. Her songs, partly set to traditional Jewish folk music, included the Iyrics: “Did the Holocaust ever happen? Was it just a bunch of lies? Seems that some intend to pull the wool over our eyes?’ Chabloz, from Glossop, Derbyshire, said the songs were satirical. At Westminster magistrates’ court yesterday, Judge John Zani gave Chabloz, who had shown “no proper remorse”, a 20-week suspended prison sentence. She was ordered to carry out community service and told not to post anything on social media for 12 months.
